Halfway through radiation therapy!!!

Meeting other cancer patients sounds a lot like prison. “What are you in for?” “How long is your sentence… err treatment?”
Treatment day 264: 127 more to go
Radiation therapy day 25!!!! Whoop whoop… DONE with that!
Radiation therapy wasn’t horrible. The only side effect was redness and mild burning towards the end. I’ve had worse sunburns. Getting to the end is bittersweet. I’m glad to get past it, but you build relationships with the people who take care of you when you see them daily for 5 weeks. I got a few hugs on my way out the door!
I’ll have a follow up with the radiation oncologist in 6 weeks.
Now it’s back to the plastic surgeon for a bit, keeping on schedule with my Phesgo shots every 3 weeks (tomorrow is the next one) and eventually another surgery around May.
My 3 major treatment hurdles are DONE!
