Love And Laughter Is The Best Medicine
Chemo was rough but thankfully I had many wonderful friends and family sending love and support even though they were all far away. Many came to visit and many more sent gifts, cards and encouraging words. Even friends of friends that I didn’t even know were sending care packages and asking how I was doing. The outpour of love made things a lot easier.
It also helped a little having some humorous doctors to lighten the mood and make me laugh. They all made a great team and had a bit of an inappropriate playful banter with each other. Not everyone was appreciative of this, however, as I heard one patient complain in the waiting room that the doctor had an inappropriate sense of humor. It’s not for everyone, but it entertained me!
A Light At The End Of The Tunnel

The end of my chemotherapy finally came! I was still nervous about my surgery, but I was so happy to check off one box and put it behind me. Hopefully never again!!!!
One thing I was looking forward to with being done was getting rid of this chest port. IV’s hurt worse but this hurt all the time and I just wanted it out. Unfortunately, I was told I had to wait until after my surgery in case the chemo didn’t fully work and I needed to go back for more. So, for now the chest port stayed.
Once I got through my final chemo treatment I got to take a break and recover before heading in for my surgery. I had 8 weeks to relax which was perfect timing to rest for 6 of those before I got to take my daughter for a road trip to Vegas for her 21st birthday! Happy birthday daughter!! 2 more weeks and its back to business! The OR for the big one this time!
