18 Months After Diagnosis, Where Am I Now?

For the most part, I feel like me again. I’ll obviously have to get used to and accept the part of my body that changed permanently and work on the part that changed temporarily. I’m in physical therapy twice a week for range of motion. My right arm is mostly just needing stretching exercises and feels like a normal stretch when you haven’t done it in a while, but the pec muscle that was radiated is a whole other level of pain and discomfort trying to recover my lost range of motion.

I’m in “surveillance” with my oncologist which is blood work and an office visit every 3 or 4 months for a couple years then spreading out from there. Watching my labs and any new signs of my cancer coming back. My treatment was aggressive to eliminate it with the highest possibility of it not returning so I feel pretty good about that.

My hair is growing back, not as quickly as I would like, but I can’t ask it to go any faster. I’m at a point where I’m comfortable and almost like it again, but boy do I miss my long hair! It’ll happen, I just have to be patient.
